Juliet Tolley

Since graduating from Soka in 2017, Juliet has gone on to receive a Master’s degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Edinburgh, with a second focus in Film. Her Master’s thesis comparing Vladimir Nabokov’s Invitation to a Beheading and the Iraq War crimes at Abu Gharib earned her a special distinction at the university, and has inspired her current comparative writing projects. She is now a proud New Yorker working in the film and television industry. Her interests are in finding the intersections between Marxist, feminist, queer, race, gender and psychoanalytic theories as a lens to write and think about film, television and literature. When she’s not on set working incredibly long days, she enjoys taking advantage of her Criterion Channel subscription, writing film reviews, listening to podcasts, and spending way too much time at the New York City beaches. She of course lives in Brooklyn. Her email is [email protected], she’s not on social media so this is the best way to reach out!
